SGP support forms a funny little belt that runs diagonally through the country. Its almost like it follows the border between the Catholic south adn Protestant north - maybe not coincidental

A very funny little belt. Every so often I do actually choose my words with care, yes... I've driven through it a few times. I did some work for a couple of months in Bergen-op-Zoom.

That's an interesting result from Oss. 1. Where's Oss? 2. Google Oss. 3. Find Oss on Wikipedia. 4. Check Oss on map to see how "interesting" the result is (it was a three-way marginal in 2010) 5. Notice it has a pretty flag: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oss

Is there any kind of cultural affinity between NE Netherlands and NW Germany? I notice they both seem to favour the centre-left.

But do you know what Oss is famous for.? 1. No. 2. Go back to Wikipedia page for Oss. 3. There is archaeological evidence that humans have lived in and around Oss for 4,000 years. 4. Oss was first mentioned in a letter by Pope Alexander II on 6 May 1069. 5. Oss is the birthplace of former Manchester United and Real Madrid star Ruud van Nistelrooy. 6. The gothic metal/alternative rock band The Gathering, formed in 1989, originally hails from Oss. 7. I guess you were thinking of 5. above. 8. Yes.

VVD + PVV + CDA + CU might be close to a majority. But they might not work together.

I think it looks like VVD 41 PvdA 39 I'm no expert (and I haven't been following the campaign), but from the % swings in the areas declared so far, I guess PvdA will creep above VVD by the time they've finished. Where is the "1 Partial result"? www.google.nl/elections/ed/nl/results?hl=en

Lovely (if predictable) result in Urk:
51.3% - SGP 18.0% - CU 12.7% - CDA 8.8% - PVV 6.3% - VVD 1.0% - PvdA 0.8% - SP 0.4% - Piraten
I can't even begin to imagine what it's like to live there.

It's possible that the SGP may actually win more municipalities than the CDA.
