If I were determined to screw Labour over, and I had power to influence that, I'd be thinking that perhaps I'd need to start thinking about different tactics. I think there is a significant number of voters who think that Corbyn is being bullied (in some cases) or that they're sick of the media obsessing about issues that don't really concern them (in perhaps rather more). Perhaps the Tories & their allies may need to think about a more patient analysis of why they think the Labour case is wrong. I think what some people don't get is that the majority of voters care more about things other than Jeremy or Brexit. Every YouGov poll shows the NHS, immigration, housing, defence, the economy, unemployment, taxation, etc. are all top priority issues a vast number of people are concerned about and on every issue the Tories are on the slide.

One thing that stands out is Brexit while still the top issue is only mentioned by half of people. Usually its 2/3. Maybe less important in marginals

Also Labour lead on immigration They most certainly do. Immigration is the major interest of the Labour Party. It is now the very bedrock of your core vote.

'Trust' is not a word most people associate with anything at all to do with politics or any political party.

'handle the best' is the language they use That is indeed a better phrase. But I am still surprised at that the perception is thus except for the fact that the rhetoric was so different to the outcome by the Conservatives and that they have been 'in charge' (if you forgive the expression?) for some 8-years.

Given that NC Politics appears to be Matt Singh's one man band I am curious as to how these polls are being conducted - there is no sign of other staff or related commercial activity and the website appears to be very infrequently updated (this poll is the first story for two months). It's also not listed as a BPC member so presumably he is commissioning someone to do these?

I suspect if the elections were to happen, the circumstances would mean a result nothing like that...

I suspect if the elections were to happen, the circumstances would mean a result nothing like that... Indeed. Surely UKIP would be doing better than that at least?

Or the Brexit Party if they can get the publicity. Without any campaign at the moment, this looks very much like a Westminster VI with a slight boost for UKIP from Europe being in the question.
