Watched her at YouTube and although i left "Center fär idioter", "Center for and by idiots" aso. aside i'd say, charisma on a very, very, very low level: She isn't a frustrated, unrelaxed, ressentiment-driven feminist, indeed, but no comparison to really charismatic ochlocrats like Hitler, Nasser, not even Lumumba and the like. An "unsexy" party like C is - apart from MP or FI - also the least likely home for such people. One does not come across ochlocrat that often in polite conversation. The very concept of ochlocracy has always appeared to me to be an invention and non-subtle construct of the prevailing oligarchy. And of course profoundly un-democratic. The mob is that body of people one does not like and fears to have anywhere near decision taking or being even partially involved in politics. Once this was assumed to be a province of the right resisting the claims for votes and consideration by the proletariat. But now it is more a fear of the authoritarian left not wishing their intellectual inferiors to be permitted decisions on anything. But always the oligarchs are the same sort of people in their heads. I admit to being quite conflicted on this myself. Yes, You are very right - the plebs is a made by the revolutionary agitators. Every person is irreplaceable - as long as being at its authentical position in the divine hierarchy. The ochlos was created, when bourgeois demagogues like MARX, PROUDHON, FOURIER aso. "enlightened" & "liberated" the poor&brave FactoryWorkers and farmers exploited by the bourgeois class, i.e. when they were filled with bourgois greed&envy (without having the energy of the bourgeoisie). Today the voles are abusing instead of the White WorkingClass the anchorless (immigrants or those addicted to drugs/depressions/sex/sport/internet/... - all in all already now a broad majority), whose only interest is obviously to crawl as soon as possible into an omnipotent worldwide-Leviathan (transition from socialism to communism).

Brilliant summation.. To paraphrase Marx: " The Internet is the opiate of the masses".

There's a bit of a to-do happening right now in Falun in Dalarna. The municipality and the postal service are each accusing the other of failing to deliver 435 ballots in time. PostNord is saying that they told the municipality to collect them on Tuesday and when they realised they still hadn't been collected on Wednesday, they delivered them themselves, but too late. The municipality said that they never received the notification. There's some uncertainty to whether the votes will ever get counted.

A question: I read, that at least the nobility in Hallinge&BohusLän has been quite Danish in its style and that the population of Skane is quite different from "normal" Swedes. But can a different mentality be detected between GötaLand and SveaLand? The political divide - blue S, red N - is the same as in Norway and as a consequence probably not caused by that.

The problem is that any cross-block government might be seen as a stitch-up designed to keep SD out of government, which will only strengthen them next time round. Either they will to be invited into government now, or a minority government will have to secure the support of the major party in some way without it being official enough to give that impression.

More counting underway apparently. I'm a little unsure exactly what these votes are, but I think they might be the advance ballots. Either way, the ground has shifted much more than I expected with the Red-greens pulling ahead of the Alliance and SD making gains. This could change drastically though as MP are dangerously close to dropping out all together. The absolute final vote isn't expected to be declared until Sunday.
1000 districts still to declare and mostly in highly urban areas.
S: 29.3% (-3.4) 104 (-9) M: 19.0% (-3.0) 67 (-17) SD: 18.5% (+4.8) 66 (+17) C: 8.6% (+2.3) 30 (+8) V: 7.6% (+2.0) 27 (+6) KD: 6.4% (+1.9) 23 (+7) L: 5.1% (+0.1) 18 (-1) MP: 4.1% (-2.3) 14 (-11)

I don't think these are postal votes, they were counted earlier this week. These are the advance votes where people could go to vote several weeks before polling day. As there are fewer polling stations for this and as far more people than expected voted this way, the counting is taking longer. How these early voters have voted, I'm not sure. But I can imagine that MP and M will go up a bit, especially as many of the districts are in strong M areas and SD will go back down. This is just my guess though.

And back to the fractured reality of the EU in the face of populist revolt: www.theguardian.com/world/2018/sep/25/swedish-pm-stefan-lofven-losing-confidence-votewith Italy getting more ornery by the day, Ever Closer Union must be something that Aliens observing from another universe will be laughing about. Where is the EU these days? Macron at abysmal ratings, Merkel wobbling with populists breathing up her behind and SDP in shock at its imminent relegation, Mafia governments in Malta and Slovakia, Greece a total basket case, Italy in open revolt, Spain a cobbled-together construct, Austria in the hands of populists, Hungary and Poland in the hands of Deplorables and Holland having narrowly dodged a populist bullet last year. Ireland about to go through the economic wringer. Looks great..

Norway clearly does not have the problem with right wingers that Sweden has, and the possibility of some racist nutter massacring people would be impossible there. Australian politics are all just dandy now - if only we had leaders of their calibre here! South America is forging ahead and a lesson to us all on how to run our countries. The middle east is doing even better. Britain, having voted to leave the EU, now has a popular and effective government held to account by an intelligent opposition and the issues of devolved government in Scotland and NI which were pressing back in 2015 have been resolved. India and China have no problems with tub-thumping nationalism at all. Or alternatively, there's been a global financial crisis with ongoing economic fall-out and governments all over the world are struggling to manage both that and the effects of the internet on public discourse, let alone cope with those of a 2nd industrial revolution. Of course, the Deplorables in EU countries do have the option of pretending to be doing something about it by shouting slogans about the EU. But it seems there's always another scapegoat handy anyway.

I still think the Romanian elite legalising crime is the most bizarre thing for the EU to ignore.

Do you see a way that happens in a house so divided?

The EU (which is now its own beast with its own separate body politic to the member states) probably will make use of the weakness of member states' governments and, in its usual salami fashion, federalise the Union with the peoples either indifferent or quite happy to see power go to a different capital.

Indeed,, it was commented how supine Victor Orban had been at the Salzburg dinner but I suspect he'd had his annual cheque waved in front of him by Verhofstadt beforehand... Nothing focuses the mind like having your assets cut off...
