Former Head of Mossad and Labor MK, Danny Yatom, to found a party for retirees. Yesh Atid and Telem are also splitting.

But will he make the threshold or get a vote surplus agreement with a party that will? Otherwise that’s anti-Netanyahu votes down the drain.

I reckon there will be moves afoot to join lists - he is close to Ehud Barak. I'd be surprised if that wasn't the case. Forming broad alignments are necessary given the electoral system though the instability of party structures since the fall of the Labor alignment, on the centre left, is all too obvious. They seem to change radically between each election.

John Swinburne managed to piss off many by calling for the return of the Tawse into Scottish Schools.

New Hope and Yamina have signed a surplus deal, as have Yesh Atid and Yisrael Beytenu. Not sure that Likud are going to get any deals this time.

Doubtless, Shas and UTJ will sign a deal, It would be sensible for an alignment of Meretz, Labour, Greens, Retirees to come together as a union and then do a deal with a Blue and White/Telem alignment. Tnufa will do a deal with The Israelis. I suspect that Orly Levy-Abekasis (Gesher) will be on the Likud list, The New Economic Party will disappear. Jewish Home will probably reintegrate with Yamina or Likud will pick them up. Give it a shake....who knows?

Sweden has a Senior Citizens interest party, which I thought was quite successful at one point. The Netherlands has 50Plus, whose former leader Henk Krol has now fallen out with two parties in 12 months. Germany had the bizarre "Die Grauen", who never got anywhere and were the fief of a rather odd woman named Trude Unruh, who had sat in the Bundestag for the SPD and then the FDP, before leaving them for GAL (precursor to the Greens) and then a small proto-AfD "Bürgerpartei".

Amir Peretz, leader of Labor until Sunday gone, has resigned from Labor to retain his cabinet position. There's always been a lot of shifting allegiances in Israeli politics, but Peretz's craven careerism is nauseating.

Is he still running for President?
And just how many ex Labor leaders have resigned to keep their cabinet posts over the years?

Ra'am and Ta'al have split from the Joint List. No doubt, they will be back come the election.
