All those are rubbish examples. Those wards you mention would all have voted Labour in recent general elections As would the wards I mentioned in Hackney. Most wards people have mentioned would have voted for the winning party in the GE.
Why are you spoiling a good thread by dismissing my examples? Nonsense. The wards in Corby mentioned in the OP would not have voted Conservative, the wards in Workington would not have voted Labour. There were some equally rubbish examples like Cranbrook in Redbridge admittedly but Robert has already sought to bring the thread back on track since then.

Voted Tory in 2014 local elections and I think 2015 GE? Bush Hill Park in Edmonton.

The semi-rural Darlington wards in the Sedgefield constituency are pretty weak for Labour. Heighington and Coniscliffe ward is probably the weakest with them losing 85-15 in 2003. Though with the Tories in government a 20-25% vote share is more typical.

Cramlington North in the Blyth Valley constituency is another excellent example. The Tories got 90%! of the vote in a straight fight with Labour at the last Northumberland council elections which even considering that Labour did generally badly across the board this a shocking result for a ward in a safe Labour seat. Sure Labour probably does notably better there in national elections but the ward is probably always Tory by wide (though not quite 90-10) margins.

Well are we counting wards in places that use STV for local elections? Clapham Common in Streatham. Voted Tory in 2014 local elections and I think 2015 GE? Bush Hill Park in Edmonton. You can do what you like but the point I thought was to identify wards that stand out within their constituency where the party holding that constituency is exceptionally weak. Labour are not exceptionally weak in Clapham Common or in Bush Hill Park. They are just relatively weak compared to other wards in the constituency. You may as well list every Labour held constituency in the country and nominate the weakest Labour ward therein (an interesting enough exercise admittedly and one I have engaged in during particularly quiet periods in my life, but not I think the specific purpose of this thread)

Blyth Valley actually voted Conservative in the 2017 locals!

That Cramlington ward is defitnely a contender. I wonder if it is demographically different or just hard work/ 1 very popular councillor or a bit of both.

Bassingbourn ward in South Cambridgeshire DC, where the winning Labour candidate polled 59.2% in 2016 (Labour got 17.6% in South Cambridgeshire in the 2015 GE).
That was almost certainly due to a personal vote though, as Labour only managed 13% in the election for the other ward seat in 2014. The councillor in question has been in office since 1990.

Up until 2017 Barnard Castle West and Barnard Castle East were very much the sole conservative wards in a sea of red in Bishop Auckland. And in the worst years for the conservatives were the sole wards to elect conservative councillors in County Durham.
Lynemouth was mentioned above, however Amble ward is definitely worth a mention too, a very solid labour ward in a constituency where labour has only come 2nd twice in recent memory (2017 and 1997).

The old Riverside ward in Dundee West voted 55.8% Conservative in 2003. It's now in the much larger West End ward, where the Liberal Democrats topped the poll with 38.5% in the council election last year. Indeed, I think it’s a testament to Fraser Macpherson’s hard work that he continually since 07 has topped the poll in the West End Ward in this city when the Liberal Democrats get so few votes at a GE only 1,189 votes in June and Fraser’s FP’s were 2,105 in May.

La Fontaine, who is from thereabouts, reckoned in a post last year that Wayne Daley (the Conservative incumbent) "must be one of the most popular councillors in the country".

And it's interesting to note that his second preferences in May went Con 24.2, Lab 23.8, n/t 18.2, SNP 15.2, Grn 10.0, SIN 5.1, Ind 2.9, SSP 0.7, so all over the place really.

Well he has increased his vote substantially across multiple elections. Isn't Cramlington North the ward with the highest rate of home ownership in the UK?

Blyth Valley is now a more marginal seat than Tynemouth, a seat which voted Tory from 1950 to 1997.

Sprotbrough in Doncaster North is the best I can think of near here.

The trouble here is a) General Elections are not applied local elections and local elections are not applied General Elections b) so much of this surely comes down anyway to the vagaries of the boundary commission?
Like until the early 90s it there were always a few random Tory councillors in extremely unlikely wards scattered across the Valleys. Did the wards they were elected from show unusual Tory strength in GEs as well? hahahaha.
