I agree entirely with Richard Allen and would add that the intervention of Mr Bristow of the EDL will take some votes from the BNP as will Mr Wildgoose for the EDP. Wildgoose will be receiving the support of some of the former BNP Yorkshire activists of course but I don't expect him to get ahead of Jane Collins in the vote.

No coincidence as they are the same person. It seems Labour are relying on a split vote to get back in Rotherham but the idea of a joint Respect UKIP candidate is too improbable for plausibility,

From the Guardian article:
"So who will win? Labour are certainly nervous. Sadiq Khan, from Tooting, who was one of the army of MPs ordered up to Rotherham to help this week..."

Heading up to Rotherham later today to help out, should be an interesting election. Expect Labour to still romp home but who comes where after that is hard to call

Good luck if you are. UKIP are trying to steal BNP votes, so I think BNP need to be out everyday even on Thurdsay right up to 10pm.

You seem to have a very strange idea about how democracy works.

If this turns out to be an easy Labour hold then Rotherham Politics is going to look very silly.

Yes, I have heard from others that she is quite good - and connects well when meeting the public. This may yet be what saves us from embarrassment

Well, her Twitter account would seem to indicate that it is I don't suppose she is going to. I can imagine though that she is completely pissed off. She seems a fairly good candidate and has no control over what is going on around her. and that's basically her first election campaign. I wouldn't be surprised if, at least for a minute, thought "why did I submit myself to all of this?!"

Interesting to note that Labour's vote was down by 8.3% in the 1994 by-election at at time when they were registering huge leads in the polls and when they were getting big increases in other by-elections around the same time in seats like Barking and Dagenham: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotherham_by-election,_1994
