The tables above don't show, that the federal SPÖ had its worst result ever.
But it shows another "historic" OutCome: FPÖ is for the first time ever abover the NationalAverage in LowerAustria and Burgenland, becoming more and more the Party of exindustrial/rural&remote East- (and especially) South-Austria.

In the EP-election Mr.Strache received 45.000 PreferenceVotes and is in consequence entitled to take one of FPÖ's seats.
Congratulations to my nearly ex-neighbour (same village) Mrs.Edtstadler (ÖVP), the exStateSecretary in the HomeMinistry under ÖVP&FPÖ (so representing a though law&order-course), got more votes than Karas, the SonInLaw of Waldheim representing the europhile antiFPÖ-wing.

SORA/ISA claim, that ÖVP performed well among early- and badly among late-deciders. But the PostalVoters show the contrary: A - compared to former times - outstandingly weak result for ÖVP. |

This fall Austria will also see another election: That of its federal CivilServants. Although FPÖ has 2014 become the (second)largest party among the uniformed (Soldiers, PoliceMen, PrisonGuards), ÖVP and SPÖ have formed everywhere coalitions (yellow=indep.):  |

Only 2 weeks after the GE Vorarlberg will go to the polls this SunDay. The Kurz-ÖVP had only small gains (~2%; because the climate for ÖVP&FPÖ was very hostile), but the regional ÖVP should make quite some improvement.
