I wonder where I could put a bet on Lucy Powell to be the next MP. A colleague told me that he could have got Imran Hussain at 8/1 in a local Bradford bookies at the start of the Labour selection!

You (and others) might want to know that although you have to log on with a user name with no spaces you can edit the display name after to how you would like it ie you could show as Colin J if you wished How do you do that then?? |

Profile > Modify Profile > Display Name > Modify Profile Mind you, I can't work out how to put my party description in the same place as everyone else, or have my name in red! |

There will be a byelection in Manchester Central later this year when Tony Lloyd resigns in order to contest the election for Greater Manchester Police and Crime Commissioner.
The selection for Labour candidate was tonight and was won by Lucy Powell, chief of staff for Ed Miliband and candidate for Manchester Withington in the last general election.

The only Alan Valentine I personally know is an SNP councillor in Motherwell, and a Google search only brings up a deceased Olympic rugby player. I'm presuming neither of these two are standing... |

He was a LibDem councillor in Preston (for the ward i won) until he was found with child porn on a laptop. moved to salford, joined Ukip, then went indie and now this.
