Another 8 by-elections coming up shortly. This is becoming a nice steady flow of 8 per week to get our teeth into, and just to keep it level there would have been a ninth in South Oxon but the Conservative there returned unopposed. This will be the week for Nottingham specialists ( you know who you are), as 3 out of the 8 from that fair city

For how long has Lincoln been a unitary?! Thar is a very good point! I have double checked the website of the City of Lincoln Council, and of course it is in fact still a shire district council! I was merely using the initial posting of these contests by middleenglander and he lists it as a UA and I copied it without giving it any thought.Perhaps I should leave it as City of Lincoln Council which is how they describe themselves?

I was merely using the initial posting of these contests by middleenglander and he lists it as a UA and I copied it without giving it any thought.Perhaps I should leave it as City of Lincoln Council which is how they describe themselves? Oh, I'm surprised to see middleenglander taking his eye off the ball and making a mistake like that. Yes, using the 'City Council' description would be suitably ambiguous...
