If Keith Edkins site is correct there had not been any by-elections in the city of Nottingham since March 2014. I'm sure the comparison with buses is not lost on David Bishop.. Edkins' site appears to be missing a by-election in Sherwood ward on 4th May 2017.

I thought that after I posted that. I can remember a byelection in Kingstanding in the last few years but Birmingham by-elections do seem to be incredibly rare, specially compared to somewhere like Salford I think by-elections are like buses. You wait a few years and then three come along at once. (ok maybe not years for buses but you know what i mean...) That's pretty true. This time ten years ago here in Pompey we'd just had the second of what became three by-elections in 5 months. We haven't had once since...

That by-election's result is available on Nottingham City Council's website.
