At about 9.45 pm on Thursday we lost our telephone / broadband when a tree came down some 200 yards away. And took out the whole of the cables. Do not know when we will be reconnected but no sign of life when we went back home from our daughter,s this afternoon. Trying to get some temporary set up going to at least catch up as much as I can in the meantime.

Weymouth will now not be holding elections this year. does this mean Weymouth West no longer falls under the 6 month rule? (It is now more than a year till the next theoretical election for the ward). I await guidance from David / A N Other but I have already moved Weymouth West into the pending column.

This will be the busiest week for this March with 8 elections -modest compared with the election blizzards in February. Can some kind person tell me where the SOPN for Bolton Farnworth can be found- Bolton MB, leading candidate for worst election local authority website in the country , appears to have done it again and is displaying the form for last January's byelection but not Farnworth? Andrew Teale I know frequently resorts to photographing the public notices on display here so avoiding the website, but ME has indicated there are six candidates, so has the info from somewhere! I phoned the council at a couple of minutes to five only to find all of Electoral Services had gone home. I did speak to the PA / Secretary to the Leader who very helpfully found the information on the nominations I posted a week or more ago.
