Of those states only Iowa and Minnesota are competitive and the former is highly unlikely to be a tipping point state. If this was an attempt to help Trump it has almost certainly failed.

While this is far-fetched, it may be a sign of things to come in the USA (and in the UK) among the white working class.
Many have been guilty of overstating this trend in the UK in the past (2015-17 in particular) but it's an interesting phenomenon. The Iron Range in Minnesota and Western Pennsylvania have already been discussed but keep an eye on where Trump does better this year.

Interesting how it's close in New Mexico, given the size of the Hispanic population.

OK then, lets have a simulation with non-college educated whites voting that way - but college educated whites/Hispanics voting Democrat at the same level as blacks?
Right wingers need to remember that there are two sides in any culture war, and there is no guarantee they will win it.

Right wingers need to remember that there are two sides in any culture war, and there is no guarantee they will win it. And then there's the questions, for example, of the extent to which education level is a proxy for age, and age is a proxy for property ownership... The implication that non-college/university educated equals 'working class' is also curious. Perhaps true to a reasonable extent for my generation at least in the UK, but not for older generations.

My wife's voting papers finally arrived this morning! Huge great double-sided A3 size voting sheet! 17 choices to make! No wonder there are so many disputes/errors in their ballots; it took me about 20 minutes just to read through the whole thing! Have you got a photo?

Well I wasn't sure on the legal niceties of posting pictures of a ballot sheet online...however it's a moot point now as my wife completed it on Friday and we put it in the post box yesterday! Sorry

I am sceptical about the impact of endorsements but Biden got a good one today when former Congressman, Secretary of Homeland Security and Pennsylvania Gov Tom Ridge (R) endorsed him. Ridge was always popular in Pennsylvania winning re-election in 1998 with 57% even though The Constitution Party candidate (a staunch social conservative) got over 10%. If Ridge still holds any sway it is with GOP moderates who Biden is trying to appeal to.

No guarantee of that happening.

180 years?
The 1840 election doesn't set a happy precedent. The winner died after just over a month in office and his Vice President was then expelled from the party! The losing party hadn't even nominated a Vice Presidential candidate.

Donald Trump : I wouldn't have allowed there to be another one after the First ! Epic fail.
Joe Biden: It was a Seminole moment in American history.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has endorsed Biden. With 199 million Instagram followers and a lot of appeal to low educated/blue collar men that's one of the few celebrity endorsements that may actually be worth a bit.

Someone's starting to panic that setting such low expectations for Biden over the last months may not have been a good idea...
