I don't usually look at this thread, and there doesn't seem to be any predictions for the parliamentary by-elections, but for what it's worth, this is what I think. For whatever reason, I felt it appropriate to predict Witney in percentages bu Batley & Spen in numbers:
Witney
Con 43.4 (-16.8) LD 27.2 (+20.4) Lab 14.6 (-2.6) UKIP 6.8 (-2.4) Grn 2.9 (-2.2) NHA 1.8 (+0.7) Others 3.3 (+2.8)
Turnout 52%
Batley & Spen
Labour 16,100 Kitchin 3,200 Khan 1,300 Hirst (ED) 600 Corbyn Anti (Eng Ind) 400 Furness (BNP) 300 Buckby (LibGB) 250 Edmonds (NF) 150 Mayhew 100 Love 50
Turnout 22,400 (c.28%)

I shall create my own 'Loony challenge'. I'd like to suggest that in Batley & Spen more of the candidates will get fewer votes than John has predicted than get more. In fact, I think there's a chance that all ten will get fewer!

In fact, I think there's a chance that all ten will get fewer! Result of my 'challenge' is, I think, Loony 4 Waller 6. Apart from sounding like a lower division Scottish football result, does that mean I'm nearly equal to being a Loony?!

Back to the realms of Sanity (and local byelections), I think Pete has won this week convincingly from Maxque and Lancastrian. Pete may have taken the lead from Maxque for the month, though in any case I think those two will still be contending overall even though there are fewer elections next week. I believe I am in even more splendid isolation in third place, quite a way behind these two and ahead of anyone else. Hempie, David Boothroyd and Lancastrian all look pretty close for fourth for the month.
