Robert Courts' electoral experience seems to amount to two local election contests. He was defeated in St Paul ward, Winchester city council in 2007, and then won The Bartons ward, West Oxfordshire district council in 2014. He stood in Hampshire! Only 9 years ago? OUTSIDER!

I thought that bit was a joke, but no. He's literally a Berniebro. He's 82! He's Bernie's OLDER brother! But with more energy than many people half his age, and certainly more sense. He's a good choice as candidate. Well known and knowledgable, much experience as a councillor in Oxford, and the Sanders 'brand' certainly shouldn't do him any harm, even in a place like Witney. I might up my expectations from this by-election now.

There are apparently 14 (!) candidates. West Oxfordshire don't seem to have put the SoPN online yet.

seems not and this news article doesnt show him in a good light linkhis name is kendrick "dickie" bird is it okay to put down only the nick name, should he have put it down as Kendrick "known as dickie" bird Call it a hunch, but I'd take a guess that "Lord Toby Jug" isn't the Eccentric Party candidates "real" name either.

Giving my best regards to Larry, of course, but will impartially say that this is one of the most varied ballot papers I have seen in a UK by-election.

I initially thought the SOPN would not be released until tomorrow (as is the case for the Batley and Spen by-election). The two ROs have chosen different dates to close nominations - Batley and Spen not until tomorrow.

Call it a hunch, but I'd take a guess that "Lord Toby Jug" isn't the Eccentric Party candidates "real" name either. Toby Jug is an annoying buffoon who was in the OMRLP for many years but was eventually expelled from the OMRLP for being too annoying to too many people too often.

And lo it came to pass that the Wessex Regionalists did not stand in a seat they contested in 2010 and 2015.
