To demonstrate the 'regardless of gender part', the male Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi is married to a woman also named Taiwo. Evelyn Waugh was married to his wife Evelyn.

I believe I'm right in saying that anyone with the forename Taiwo, male or female, is one of a pair of twins. I believe so - all twins are Taiwo or Kihende, male or female The Eagles aren’t Neither was Bernard Weatherill Nor the Proclaimers Nor Lori and George Schappell Nor Will Young

And for a more contemporary example, US football international Trinity (daughter of Dennis) Rodman's boyfriend is also called Trinity. And, just to confuse matters further, professionally plays a different sport also called football.

It was a reasonably well-known fact that in the 2019-2024 parliament there were "only" 1 or 2 or 3 black male Labour MPs (the number depending on how you define "black") whereas there were several black female Labour MPs. How many black male Labour MPs are there now? (The map from electionmapsuk says there are 89 ethnic minority MPs in total.) According to Wikipedia, Black men: Bayo Alaba (Southend East and Rochford) Callum Anderson (Buckingham and Bletchley) Calvin Bailey (Leyton and Wanstead) David Burton-Sampson (Southend West and Leigh) Adam Jogee (Newcastle-under-Lyme) David Lammy (Tottenham) Clive Lewis (Norwich South) Black women: Diane Abbott (Hackney North and Stoke Newington) Dawn Butler (Brent East) Juliet Campbell (Broxtowe) Janet Daby (Lewisham East) Marsha de Cordova (Battersea) Florence Eshalomi (Vauxhall and Camberwell Green) Miatta Fahnbulleh (Peckham) Paulette Hamilton (Birmingham Erdington) Natasha Irons (Croydon East) Kim Johnson (Liverpool Riverside) Chi Onwurah (Newcastle upon Tyne Central and West) Abena Oppong-Asare (Erith and Thamesmead) Kate Osamor (Edmonton and Winchmore Hill) Taiwo Owatemi (Coventry North West) Bell Ribeiro-Addy (Clapham and Brixton Hill) So the women definitely still comfortably outnumber the men. Outside of Labour, there's one black Lib Dem MP (Josh Babarinde) and five Conservative black MPs (Kemi Badenoch, Peter Bedford, James Cleverly, Helen Grant, Ben Obese-Jecty). Notably, two of those five are newly-elected and another two are currently running to be Conservative leader! And two offend against the peinciples of Nominative Determinism

Wot was the result of the St Jude’s ward by-election in Blackburn in 1976 caused by the resignation of Councillor Frankman of the National Party? The otherwise mentioned World In Action documentary programme said that the NF and NP got 31% between them, but didn’t otherwise give any figures. It seems that by-elections are not included in the otherwise excellent www.electionscentre.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Blackburn-1973-1996.pdf

Local newspaper archives are often the go to for this sort of thing, and some are online now (though not always for as relatively recently as 1976)

Note that although the fascist vote was split, the Labour vote this time was significantly higher than the fascist vote. I had not realised until this that the NP had won a seat in 2 separate wards, I had always thought for some reason that it was 2 seats in the same ward.

I notice that the four parties have approximately equal areas on the map of Scotland in the 2024 general election. What percentages of the land area did each party get in the general election in the UK as a whole? And/or in the four nations of the UK separately?

Had anybody got a list of constituencies where the combined vote of the 2 major parties rose? I’m sure it’s been posted here but not sure where.
