57 years today since the 1964GE. The stability of the Labour vote in 1959/64/70, years when the national vote was remarkably stable. Walthamstow East (most stable) to Billericay (least stable but mushrooming electorate).

Southend-on-Sea City Council 2021. Changes based on 2016: C gain from Ind Belfairs St Luke's Shoeburyness Labour won the by-election seat in St Luke's, gaining the seat from an independent. Split wards are (not taking account of defections): Blenheim Park is C/Ind/Lab and Labour are defending in 2022. Eastwood Park is 2C/1LD and the Conservatives are defending in 2022. St Laurence is 2C/1Lab and the Conservatives are defending in 2022. St Luke's is C/Ind/Lab and the independent seat is up in 2022. Shoeburyness is 2Ind/1C and an independent seat is up in 2022. Southchurch is 2C/1Ind and the Conservatives are defending in 2022. West Leigh is 2C/1LD and the Conservatives are defending in 2022.
