His most important role on the Council was chairing the Pensions Committee that made the controversial investments in tobacco companies. He was also a Suffolk Coastal district councillor for Otley from 1999 to 2015.

I've checked the SOPN for both the County Council and Town Council by-elections and they just have his name down as:
