Clearly sharing a name with their Senedd leader did nothing for Mostyn UKIP. SOPN for Mostyn Division by-electionI think you may have misread something as the UKIP candidate's name was Humberstone, not Hamilton.

Hamilton's real first name is Mostyn Ah, did not know that. He'd managed to hide it for many years, until it suited his purposes at the Assembly election to have it quietly known. Much like Skoal Bandits, there was a bit of a gap between what he loudly said in public and what was known in private...

His full name was certainly announced at the 1997 count in Tatton, so "hidden in plain sight" maybe.
