I see that former socialist group member thetop has joined the Labour ranks. Watson's trotskyist entryism in action!

About three months. Sitting on the fence gave me a sore backside. SNP, Scottish Greens, Lib Dems... How many parties have you been a member of? (And yes I'd like names too, if you can remember them) Well, that's it really. Greens: 2007 - Feb 2010 Lib Dems: Feb 2010 - May 2010 Greens: May 2010 - 2011 SNP: 2011 - current

I have a Scottish home address still, I'm registered to vote there. I've never registered in England.

I suppose given the choice, Scottish local elections are a lot more interesting than Sandwell elections!

I would like to apply to join the Conservative group after 4 years as a member of UKIP (outside the forum).
The petty infighting and rather loathsome figures at the top of the party means I can no longer support UKIP. I'm impressed with May's premiership so far, she seems to be "getting on with the job" with a team of professionals UKIP could only dream of.

A bit of information to impart regarding the forum party groups, if anyone is interested:
By coincidence, the sole respective members of both the Lib Dem leaning and Green leaning groups asked me to reassign them elsewhere this evening. Both said groups have been deleted. I have decided I would like to phase out all the "leaning" groups on the basis that you either support a party or you don't - and more to the point, I want to create some space as ProBoards allow only a limited number of groups to exist. I have created a National Health Action group and an Ulster Unionist group since I took on my role a few weeks ago.
Only the UKIP leaning group remains. It only has two members, one of whom hasn't posted since before the last general election. I do not intend to create any more such groups for the reasons stated.
I was also on the brink of getting rid of the None of the Above group - as I have no sympathy with the entire premise of its existence - but someone asked me if they could re-join it today. As I'm a nice, accommodating sort of bloke, I reluctantly obliged.

Do we actually have any regular posters from Northern Ireland? nitory springs to mind. I would love to see more people from NI join up; for some inexplicable reason a large proportion of those who do make the occasional contribution seem to prefer to post as Guests (see the archived Northern Ireland election threads for more).

Forgot about him. I asked partially because I noticed a lack of any NI party groups, e.g. Sinn Fein, the DUP, SDLP, whereas we have groups for Plaid Cymru and the SNP.

I'm here if they want to sign up. I can see why a Sinn Fein supporter might be reluctant to join a forum called Vote UK Forum, even though I wouldn't force them swear an Oath of Allegiance to me.
