Were all the "not yet called" byelections called for the 23rd March en masse, I would, of course, delete my account accordingly (I'm only joking. Ish)

Roxbourne, LB Harrow, 9 March, candidates:
AMUTHARASAN, Marshel (Liberal Democrats) CROSSMAN, Herbert Winford (UKIP) HENSON, Maxine (Labour Party) SINGH, Annabel Narinder Lauren (Conservative Party)
Amutharasan contested the ward in 2014 as one of the two unsuccessful Liberal Democrat candidates. Crossman has been a maverick in Harrow for many years, being, at one time or another, in the Lib Dems, the Tories, the Referendum Party, UKIP (twice) as well as heading up an almost one-man-band party, the "Peoples Independence Party". Ms Henson is the wife of one of the sitting Labour councillors. Ms Singh is contesting her first election. Only the Labour candidate lives in the ward.

Chris Boyle is standing for us in the South Heaton (Newcastle) by-election. He's a former South Jesmond councillor. Andrew Gray is standing again for the Green Party in the ward. I've read that the Labour selection is an all women shortlist but I don't know.

Highly likely to be a byelection in Newbridge ward of Bath and North East Somerset, as sitting councillor Donal Hassett (elected as a Conservative) has just been found guilty of conspirary to grow cannabis.

LD will be rubbing their hands at this - should be an easy pick up. He only gained his seat in 2015, with a narrow majority, coinciding with a general election. Even so, the other seat for this ward went LD.

I am now able to reveal that the other vacancy I mentioned is Walcot ward in Bath and North East Somerset. Lisa Brett, who was deputy leader of the Liberal Democrat group, resigned today (I understand she is moving to Washington DC).
This was another split ward in 2015.

I feel like I should do something. Tea, I think. Calm the nerves.

It was spotted when a colleague noted that Bath Lib Dems were suddenly doing a lot of campaigning in the ward for no readily apparent reason. On asking he was told that Lisa Brett would be resigning but the news should be kept confidential until it happened.
