Sad news from Bolton where Cllr Alan Walsh (Conservative, Hulton ward) has died following a battle with cancer. He was 81.
There will be no by-election as Cllr Walsh would have been up for re-election in May.

It is with great sadness that I must report that Labour councillor Len Tippen, South Oxhey ward (Three Rivers DC) died yesterday afternoon. Last autumn he celebrated his 70th birthday and had continued to attend Council meetings regularly (including last week) despite battling with cancer for several months. A short tribute can be found on the South Oxhey and Oxhey Hall Labour Party home page. The Watford Observer have now posted a more extensive obituary.

Curious set of nominations for the Stratford On Avon Studley with Sambourne by election
Paul Beaman Conservative - former Lib Dem councillor for the old Studley ward stood as a Lib Dem last May Nick Moon Independent - the resigning Conservative councillor who stood down because he was too busy to do the job as a councillor Nigel Rogers UKIP Karen Somner-Brown Labour fought seat last May Hazel Wright Lib Dem - former Lib Dem councillor for the old Studley ward narrowly lost in Studley with Mappleborough Green ward last May
I have not yet seen any justification given by Nick Moon for standing again for a job he is too busy to do !!!!!!!!! or for Paul Beaman now standing as a Conservative but suspect that might be down to a selection battle lost for the Lib Dem candidature .
