A fairly right-wing place, evidently I believe it is, or was, the long-term residence of the left-, then right- wing historian, Paul Johnson. More like the barking historian. I always thought he was an idiot when he was writing for the New Statesman. His subsequent intellectual somersaults confirmed that.. It is great when your prejudices are confirmed.

Highly decent for UKIP there - and not so bad in Bucks, either. Surprised they didn't stand anybody in Wealden...... Though Labour's share in Oldham is down due to the UKIP intervention, it is actually a further small swing from the LibDems since last month The results in Oldham was a little disappointing considering the absence of a Tory candidate. I would say it is better than 'not so bad in Buck', although of course UKIP were not close to winning as in TW (I would never have expected them to be) their vote share is higher of course and I think it far exceeds expectations. Buckinghamshire has seen one or two other strong UKIP performances lately but in this case it clearly isn't just a case of disaffected Tories

That's probably the Conservatives best result of the week.

It seems the Green vote in Wealden stayed at home, rather than going to Labour/LDs

It is certainly an interesting result - but an alternative explanation is that the Greens, in the last few elections there, gained the support of quite a few who would otherwise have voted Tory. And I suspect this is a bit more common than some people think.......

The LD vote share as is usual in this ward in a multi paty contest was higher than in 2007/2008 and 2011

All I said was that there was a small LibDem/Lab swing there since last month. Far from being "drivel", that is a statement of undeniable psephological fact

Dok made the post as a member, when you suspend your account all your posts you put on as a member show you as a guest, regardless of whether you were a member at the time. This also invalidates any linkages you have made for pictures like he put on as a guest can't do that function.

No, I think John07's right. Next week's thread has image-deleted placeholders, suggesting he's deleted them from his Photobucket account, rather than the board stopping his images being displayed from a guest's lack of privileges.

Well, whatever the case is it's his perogative. He was a victim of bullying so you can't really blame him. I know some thought he was fair game for his hatred of the Labour party but the personal attacks on him were pathetic.

He gave out at least as much as he recieved, Khunanup. And I suspect you know this, really. For the record, I would like to see him return (just like your friend Pimp did ) He had some highly useful stuff to contribute, when not in boilerplate mode.
