That's very hurtful Joe. I'm extremely disappointed in you and am very, very upset at your unkind critique, in fact I'm devastated.
However on a brighter note!
It's nice to welcome back the worlds worst political analyst, good ole Mark Senior, when he's not providing some of the poorest electoral insight known to man across the interweb it's nice to know that he's still humble enough to pop back here to interact with us mere mort7als.
Hooray for Mark!!
Its just the constant attacks on plaid cymru. We all know they are anti English rural weirdoes without the constant reminders. Sorry if I was mean. Most of my posts are pretty damm dull. I withdraw my comment.
It's OK no need to withdraw anything I was only joking.
As regards pc they truly are the nasty bigoted party and need to be reminded of it at every opportunity especially after such disgusting comments by Meirion.

Would it have been more, or less, acceptable for me to have been called a mochyn du? Equally inaccurate, but it's the name of a decent pub near Sophia Gardens.

Re Ollerton swings. From figures for 2013 on page 1 shares were Lab 47.7, Con 27.2, UKIP 25.1. But its pointed out later in the thread that the Labour figure is actually wrong in that post. 18th December - 3 2009 Lab 1202, Con 1042, Ind 716 2013 Lab 1043, Con 594, UKIP 549 Ben BRADLEY (The Conservative Party Candidate) Colin HART (UK Independence Party (UKIP)) Michael PRINGLE (Labour Party Candidate) Marylyn RAYNER (Liberal Democrats) Actual 2013 figure for Labour is 1603.

Bowydd & Rhiw 2008 : Plaid, Llais Gwynedd & Green.
A somewhat left-leaning area?
(Also home to one of the few Russian Orthodox establishments in the UK. Funny place Blaenau Ffestiniog.)

Three out of the last 4 elections there with unopposed candidates, and no candidates in May 2008, requiring a re-run. People not exactly rushing to stand there.

I'm fairly sure that Bowydd a Rhiw 2008 was actually postponed due to the death of a candidate.

Andrew is correct about the reason for the postponement of poll in Bowydd a'r Rhiw in 2008.
On 6 May 2004, Ernest Williams (Lab) was returned unopposed for the Bowydd a’r Rhiw division of Gwynedd.
Sadly he died after the close of nominations for the elections on 1 May 2008, leading to a postponement of poll. The poll was eventually held on 5 June 2008. Labour did not field a candidate and the seat was won by The Voice of Gwynedd: Dafydd Lloyd Hughes (Llais Gwynedd) 341, Sheila Cunnington (Plaid Cymru) 247, Dafydd Gwallter Dafis (Green Party) 117.
Following the resignation of Dafydd Hughes for “personal reasons”, Plaid Cymru gained the seat at the by-election on 30 September 2010: Paul Eurwel Hughes (Plaid Cymru) 338, Donna Morgan (Llais Gwynedd) 246
On 3 May 2012, Paul Eurwel Thomas (Plaid Cymru) was returned unopposed.
At the by-election on 18 December 2014, following the resignation of Paul Thomas as he moved from the area to live in South Wales, Annwen Daniels (Plaid Cymru) was returned unopposed.

Interestingly Dafydd Lloyd Hughes appears to be of a mixed racial heritage. As I say, interesting place Blaenau Ffestiniog.
