Shas is currently disintegrating in the most hilarious and high profile manner imaginable.

It's just Deri removing attention from the video! He thought his attempted resignation from party leader would help him, by seeming like the noble move to take, but when too many people saw through that move - that it was just a way of getting the current Rabbis behind Shas to unanimously support him, and that he had no intention of relinquishing control - he had to take it further and resign as MK, which is meaningless ATM. Don't worry, he'll be leading Shas into the coming elections! All just my opinion of course!

Very amusing but I suppose the last few posts are in fact stereotypical racist remarks that are deserving of being 'blocked' by right-thinking bus station spotters?

I'm not sure that characterising Shas as dislikeable, intolerant goons with a penchant for hypocrisy and a desire to send other people's children off to war but not their own is particularly unfair.

This racism has just got to stop or I shall start to feel most uncomfortable and I am sure no one wants me in an uncomfortable state?

Polls are currently showing both Labor/Hatnuah and Likud in the low-to-mid twenties (with more agreement on the score of the former than the latter). JH is polling very consistently in the high teens, Yesh Atid are usually hovering around 10 and Kulanu around about 9, with UTJ and Meretz at around 7 or so. Hadash when polled alone has usually scored around 5, ditto UAL. Things are less stable for the other parties; scandal plagued YB has polled as high as 10 and as low as 5, with Shas (see above) between 7 and 4. Some polls have shown the Shas-breakaway party HaAm Itanu on around 4 seats.

The question with HaAm Itanu is simply if they'll make it over the threshold - which is why the polls show them getting either 4 or nothing.
The threshold is 3.25%, which translates to 3.9 seats - virtually 4 seats in any circumstances (even if it were to happen (almost impossible) that a party getting 3.9 seats were not to get 4 seats under d'Hondt, they would still get 4 seats if 2.5% of votes went to other parties which don't reach the threshold. Since such votes get disregarded, that would straight away bring 3.9 seats up to 4 seats anyway).

The delightful and charming Moshe Feiglin - who effectively lost his seat in the recent Likud primaries - is apparently to launch his own party.

YB is also splintering and shedding senior figures as pressure from corruption scandals continues to increase.

Hadash, the United Arab List, Balad and Ta'al have agreed to run as a joint list in order to get round the new threshold. The polls continue to be comparatively stable.

A recent poll has YB - which has suffered further high profile defections recently - teetering on the edge of the new electoral threshold that they themselves pushed heavily for...

Alongside Ireland, Israel is one of the few places on earth where I would happily vote for a socialist party as my first choice.

What is the new threshold? 3.25%. It was 2% before. So presumably out of 120 seats the smallest party would have 4 seats (3.9 if getting exactly 3.25%).
