Rossendale seems to not be aware Internet exists. You sound surprised. They still point at planes round there. And I see that the rogue (?) Declaration of Poll emanates from Bacup. My parents used to describe giving something a good feel with one's hands 'a Bacup look'. Mind, they were from Rawtenstall .... |

My only visits to Rossendale were to Ski Rossendale as part of my 6th form outdoor pursuits course. This was in November/December 1992. I tested the net at the bottom of the slope on one occasion.

The confusion in Rossendale is probably due to the Conservative candidate's surname, which is double-barrelled on the declaration of result of poll (and second in the alphabetical list), but single-barrelled on the list of candidates (and third in the alphabetical list).

She is now "executive director of co-operatives and neighbourhoods". |

I also tried sarsaparilla, after having heard it mentioned in numerous Westerns, for the first ever time.
