I think it's safe to say Pete is the clear winner this week as his total faults will be less than the 10 point penalty the rest of us have. - congratulations!

A new competitor, someone who I have known for many, mant years. How long is a 'Mant' year? "Mant" is an old Saxon term used to quantify what danegeld taxes were required. Over time it became "amant" and ultimately "amount" but in the 10th century it meant more than could be imagined. As a long standing friend, I have during August allowed Pete Westwood access to the messages Pete Whitehead sends ahead of the prediction closing time. I must admit I have only just noticed that he has posted identical predictions to Pete Whitehead but as names are placed in alphabetic order it looks as though Pete Westwood may beat Pete Whitehead this month.

A response of pure gold genius Sir. I doff my hat (here an Italian straw hat of 1930s style from a good makers in Ravenna). I am glad to aquitainted with you. I might have gone for a small nail used in clog making or an extinct from of mosquito once found at the Soak of Peterborough.
