Sorry, Erlend, your irony defeats me here! Why would an Aussie be in charge?

You have lost me which of my posts are you referring to? The most recent was about tearing strips of Owen Jones,

Erlend,
Tim was referring to Natalie Bennett. I was somewhat surprised by your mention of her.

According to my family tree all my ancestors are English back to at least 1800. My children on the other hand are half Welsh (and my wife's tree goes back to at least 1800 100% Welsh).

I am pretty sure Mr Danczuk's family are Ukrainian, not Polish. I am not getting into the ethnic ancestry argument, as I quite like living here.

What on earth is this about? It was the beginning of this that got me to create that other thread about ancestry.

I made a slightly flippant comment about needing to have 4 Brit grandparents to take part in politics in the UK. It sort of snowballed which is why I created the ancestry thread.

I have 4 grandparents from England and 8 great grandparents too. Not all my children can say the same though. On Mr Danczuk, I don't know an awful lot about him, but I saw him a few months ago on C4 news tearing strips off Owen Jones and was suitably impressed Danczuk also made himself look silly by saying OJ was from a posh part of Stockport. He was brought up in Cale Green! Cale Green is alright, it's not exactly Brinny or Lancashire Hill.

Twenty or so years ago some parts were quite leafy, infact its not that rough now! It's more like Davenport now- which is steadily turning into a colony for people in their 20s/30s who can't afford Cheadle, Cheadle Hulme and Bramhall.

I don't know if this goes here or that we mention forum defections. Anyhow after Nigel's announcement of setting up a separate no campaign for the referendum it was the final nail in the coffin for my support for him and UKIP.
To win this important referendum the no campaign had to show a united front and cross party team work was required. Nigel does not seem interested in team work but about what's best for team Nigel.
I am very much on the right of British politics however since winning the budget I am very happy with what the conservatives are doing and people like armchair and Neilm in the party it is a place I can feel at home in.
Today I announce my resignation as a UKIP member and my return to the conservative party.

Me. Mr D would have to have the approval of the LDs to join. That might not be forthcoming!!!
Tony
