SANDWICH TOWN COUNCIL BY ELECTION RESULT. LABOUR 140 (33.8%), UKIP 113 (27.3%), TORY 104 (25.2%), LIBDEM 57 (13.7%). Turnout 414 (21.36%).
Tories drop from first to 3rd!

Not the easiest of causes of the byelection, and the Stoke leadership has been under heavy fire for proceeding with a costly plan to move the council HQ to a newly-built office, which has been rapidly unravelling. The auditors are the latest to criticise it.
This isn't a typically good Labour ward; parts of it are semi-rural and other bits are prosperous.
But I see the Lib Dems got another of their comedy votes.

I actually wonder if Sam had won whether he would have set some kind of record as he didn't join the Conservative Party until the day before he became a candidate, and didn't resign his Labour Party membership until the day after he became a Conservative....
