Seems pretty good for the Tories and UKIP, though the relative lack of independent candidates this time makes comparison unwieldy.

I believe Labour has gained this seat , however Sandwich South is not a particularly safe Conservative seat . A previous TC by election in 2007 was won by the Conservatives with a majority of only around 30 with Lib Dems 2nd and both Labour and Lib Dems have had councillors in this ward before . Sandwich North is a much stronger Conservative part of the town .
