Donald Trump is now the oldest nominee for US President from a major party ever. The fact that he is older than Biden in 2020, and has had senior moments, will now be an electoral liability.

Lowest number of votes whilst winning seat: Liberal Democrat:Sutton Coldfield 17,576 With all due respect to the eccentric campaign by the LD candidate in that seat, this one's gotta be Sutton & Cheam, right?

Well spotted Foggy.
I was using data from the 2024 GE Excel supersheet that someone posted elsewhere on here.
It seems the originator transposed the Sutton Coldfield & Sutton & Cheam seats!

Sutton Coldfield was, in fact, arguably one of the worst LibDem results anywhere.

It's almost as if they did it deliberately : carefully arranging their votes geographically to make sure that they defeated, by only small margins, a number of Independent and WPB and other candidates.

I think what the list also emphasises is how a combination of (a) low turnout and (b) a slightly wider spread of votes beyond the "big 2" parties, has meant that quite a number of seats under FPTP can now be won with a shockingly low number of votes.
