In 1901 Scotland comprised 14% of the UK's population. Today it's 8%. And at union in 1707 it was around 20%. (estimates vary due to being before proper census statistics)

Rishi Sunak will be the youngest PM since Pitt the Younger if he becomes Prime Minister before turning 42. He would need to become PM on or before 12 May 2022 in order to beat Lord Liverpool. If he becomes PM before 12 December 2023 he would beat David Cameron and be the youngest PM since 1812.

The USA was 42,921 votes away from a 269-269 Electoral College tie in 2020.
I think the following would then have happened
1) The House would have voted for President (by state not Congressional District)
27 states had Republican majority House delegations while 20 had Democrat ones after the House elections. Michigan, Minnesota and Pennsylvania had tied delegations and so couldn't vote.
The House would have voted 27-20 to re-elect Trump
2) The Senate would have been 50-50 after the Georgia runoffs and Pence would have cast the tiebreak vote to re-elect himself as VP
All while Biden won the popular vote by 7 million votes...

Well, the USA is a federation, and the President is the president of the federation, and the members of the federation are the states, not the people, so it's the states that choose the president of the federation of the states. All there in the constitution specifically to avoid the president being a demagogue bypassing the states.

Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski is older than Alaska. Every member of congress - House or Senate - from Alaska ever was either born in the lower 48, or else (Murkowski and Mark Begich) is the Alaska-born child of a former member of congress from Alaska who was born in the lower 48. Begich was born after statehood, though. If there is any member of congress from elsewhere who was born in Alaska, then I am not aware of them - I think Murkowski is and will almost certainly remain the only territory native to have made it into congress.

The popular vote margin of victory was within 4.4% in five of the six US elections held since 1996.

Every Conservative to gain a seat in a by-election while the Tories have been in office has been a woman since the '60s:
Angela Rumbold (Mitcham & Morden 1982) Trudy Harrison (Copeland 2017) Jill Mortimer (Hartlepool 2021)

David Cameron was the first privately educated Tory leader since Alec Douglas-Home left the post in 1965.
