He is not well & should not be standing for election. It will be very detrimental to his already iffy mental health if, as seems certain, he gets a very low vote. He will take it personally. I hope he will be OK & wish him well.

These, ahem, leaflets make Leo Atreides' efforts in Brighton Pavilion in 2010 look sane. Maybe we could club together to buy him a photocopier. That handwriting is really disgraceful though didn’t he go to Oxford.

Also the level of engagement the tweets are getting especially given the effort that's going into them, is fairly tragic

I have literally never come across hand written election literature before. Didn't he say he had done the same thing for the recent Newham byelections?

I sometimes have a dream in which I have an area to deliver but I've run out of the appropriate leaflets. So I resort to using old leaflets and then delivering random items through letterboxes - clothes pegs and the like.
Weld appears to be living the dream.
It's not healthy.

We had one councillor in the old UDC days who didn't issue a leaflet. She had a copy of the register and knocked on every door. It worked but only suitable for a smallish (and not sparse) electorate.

I have come across election literature which appears to be handwritten but I assume is in actual fact a font to appear handwritten? In any case it's certainly photocopied, whereas Mr. Parr-Reid hasn't done so. Just writing out the imprint however many times would tire me out!

I have literally never come across hand written election literature before. Didn't he say he had done the same thing for the recent Newham byelections? In the 2010 GE, when I was a member of a different party, we produced a couple of thousand of totally hand-written letters. They were basically handwritten photocopies mainly written by elderly party members/ supporters. The seat was flooded with literature (including the fake handwritten letter) and it was felt a real handwritten letter with a stamp in the corner was much more likely to be read than the large volume of normal election materials going through letter boxes each week. Edit to add, they were significantly 'better' looking than Weld's efforts. Like a sweet handwritten note from Grandma.

Especially from the Lib Dems.

He is not well & should not be standing for election. It will be very detrimental to his already iffy mental health if, as seems certain, he gets a very low vote. He will take it personally. I hope he will be OK & wish him well. He is not Jared fucking O'Mara

If you're doing OK, that's good news, but you can hardly blame people for thinking you aren't in the circumstances.

These, ahem, leaflets make Leo Atreides' efforts in Brighton Pavilion in 2010 look sane. Well, after umpteen years in electoral politics I thought I'd seen it all, but . . . Snap. This is very, very odd. Even back in the day, before PCs & printers we never did handwritten.
