Re 4, and thank you for your erudite summation of the facts as you see them, Peter: I've seen Labour posters about and they don't, and my eyesight is rubbish, emphasise postal voting from what I can gather - correct me if I'm wrong and you are much more keyed into London Labour than I ever have been, or ever could be at this point. "the real fight then was between Labour and Corbyn" - Corbyn is in pictures with the other independent and his wife, Laura, seems to be backing her. I can't compete with that endorsement (if indeed, an endorsement it is, I can't claim to speak for Corbyn's intentions re: Hillrie, but I could see why he would plump for Alison here. To the May result, and it's a good point - the Mayoral turnout helped Labour keep the seat, I'd wager. Compare that to off-cycle Hackney by-elections where Labour dropped by a lot more. Why would posters "emphasise postal voting"? exactly. Posters never mention postal voting, leaflets frequently do.

Election campaigning can be very emotional, and take a lot out of us, especially if you are the candidate. Plus you don't want all the other candidates knowing about your campaign tactics. Take care of yourself.

Just read 19 pages of this thread on my day back from holiday. Oh my word. Is this performance art? My main wish now is for a BBC Election Night live from Islington with Laura Kuenssberg and co casting the runes over every inch of NW4, with the Hillrise swingometer primed and ready to go, while some unlucky presenter has to make Bargoed sound interesting or important. Come on BBC.... And sanders I have to say there is much good advice on this thread from posters who are displaying human rather than political interest. Picking up campaigning as a lone wolf is no fun at all and plain hard work even if you know what you are doing. I suspect you would be much happier by finding a party you can live with locally, containing people you'd be happy to work with and hang out with even if you don't agree on every policy detail. Maybe once this is over you might read back in a different light.

Despite having him on block, I keep seeing his posts because others keep quoting him. tbh I am increasingly convinced he is just taking the piss, and am dissapointed that people (myself included) are rising to it as it only encourages. If he wont stop posting until after this election cam we at least agree to all put him on block or at least stop quoting

I don’t have anyone blocked here. That’s not consistent with a kinder, gentler politics, is it? It’s funny all these grown men blocking each other on here. I wasn’t going to post but I feel compelled to respond to Crimson King (more like golden beta) - if you don’t support my campaign, that’s fine, it’s a free country. However I am in no way shape or form “taking the piss”. I’m using handwritten leaflets - so what? Blocking people, btw, says more about you than it does me. Only Lib Dem tossers seem to block folks here.

on topic(ish) Back when I lived in Caerphilly (‘81-‘84) the sole Liberal councillor on Rhymney Valley DC was a chap called Angus or some other stereotypical scottish name who was I believe the landlord of a pub in Bargoed. I wonder if he covered this area?

I believe the independent campaigns are the most active in Hillrise ward based on when posters have gone up and how many leaflets are going out. I've done 1.8k.

Well that was entertaining reading. A shame it had to stop when it did.
Maxim is a very interesting character. Not as 'down to earth' as those handwritten notes suggest. Top marks for trying.
Bahamas tutoring three students (14, 11, 8) 6 days weekly. SEPT TO DEC. £1.5k-1.8k a week. STEM experience essential. Expenses covered. Comment for info. Try that line on the door to the residents in the Council Estates who can't afford to feed their kids.
Also top marks for leafletting! You might want to add that you went for Chancellor of Oxford? Not really interested in helping local people, just want another badge for that ego. People need someone who will do casework, chamber work and oh dear listening to them. How will you do that mate?
Thanks for the laughs, it has been fun to read and good luck eh!
