It'll all Come Together next Thursday. But! What if it is an opening night disaster? And all the wrong people win after all? We'll have to carry that weight and resume our Golden Slumbers . The End.

Labour gain. Hopefully the winner poses for a nice photo on the famous crossing from the Beatles album. How hard is Labour working this ward for the GE? It'll all Come Together next Thursday. Labour me do, you know I do.

Although the Tories won the last Cazenove by-election, General Election turnout will see Labour home and dry, even if the Conservatives have found Ian Sharer 2.0. As a former Hackney resident, however, it's good to see gentrification Ground Zero have an opposition and a strident one at that. I wish all the candidates well.

Lewisham,Blackheath Candidates: Con, Grn, Lab, LD 2022: Lab 2035, 1884, 1565; LD 1356, 1211, 1202; Grn 708, 696, 467; Con 627, 451, 435This is surely when the Liberal Democrats get back onto Lewisham London Borough Council On a general election turnout? Anything is possible, but I wouldn't bet your life savings on it.

The Conservative candidate in Cazenove is Hershi Moskovits. I'm sure that's a Hassidic Jewish name. I think the Lib Dem candidate is also Jewish. Here is the SOPN: docs.google.com/document/d/1ByPX6xHPuT0W3mQhQtxIs9vFWyvOEPQXJv8rk3nCPaw/edit. The Sharers nominated the Tory candidate. I think he'll win. Should the Conservatives win the (second) Cazenove by-election, Hackney council would be: LAB 46, CON 7, IND 3 GRN 2. The Tories won five seats in 2022. 2026 could be: LAB 42 (-8); CON 8 (+3); GRN 7 (+5). Eight is the Hackney Tories' ceiling (Cazenove, Springfield and Stamford Hill West). The Greens' best scenario involves sweeping Dalston and Hackney Downs, and winning in Clissold and Stoke Newington. They could win the De Beauvoir seats (bringing their total to nine), and multiple seats in Clissold and Stokey. At maximum, the Greens' best result would be 13: LAB 36 (-14); GRN 13 (+11); CON 8 (+3). Shacklewell could be close. Still, even if the Greens won all the seats there, Labour would still hold 33/57 seats in Hackney! NOC is remote, unless Labour loses wards like Haggerston and Victoria. batman do you think whocanivotefor.co.uk/person/117909/hershi-moskovits wins Cazenove for the Tories on Thursday?

Brighton &Hove, Brunswick & Adelaide was (perhaps unsurprisingly given the GE result) a Green gain from Lab:

South Derbyshire. Hatton.
Won I think on drawing of lots last time by Labour. Lab 415 Con 527 LD 271
Con gain from Lab This ward is now in the Derbyshire Dales constituency but presumably will have been worked to some extent by Labour in their unexpected victory there. The LD intervention has been unusual anywhere in South Derbyshire politics but may become more common with their wins in neighbouring Hilton ward (also now in Derbyshire Dales).

Labour won Cazenove. GE turnout doomed the Tories I think.

I think, but may be wrong, that the majority of electors there are students. In which case, it makes you wonder whey they bothered with the by-election now, rather than waiting until the students return. Although turnout here is always very low.
