wonder if the Tories not putting up a candidate was intentional or not

His real name, as given on the NOEA, is Kingsley Julian Duncan Hamilton.

I don’t think TTIP has called itself “…of Britain” before. Perhaps it’s aiming to expand to other places. I think in 2022 there were 2 TTIP candidates in north London, but otherwise none others outside Croydon.

Mark Samuel usually gets minimal numbers of votes, and I’m not sure if he’s even bothered to do leafleting in some of his recent election campaigns. He got 18 votes (out of an electorate of 12,300) in South Croydon ward in June 2022. PHW is only a single-member ward with an electorate of just over 4,000 so I think there is a non-negligible possibility that he might approach, or equal, or break, my record of 6 votes as the lowest number of votes for any candidate in the history of local elections in Croydon. That possibility is however likely to be sabotaged by the higher turnout happening due to the GLA elections on the same day.

As I understand it the area counts for the GLA will be run by the borough designated as the Returning Officer, but local byelections will be counted by their own borough. But all the ballot papers go in the same box?

I think the idea is separate boxes for each ballot.
