FWIW Jamie Bryson made positive noises about this candidacy, and there's a lot of crossover between potential TUV support and people likely to be influenced by Bryson in this constituency.

What happens to Easton’s MLA seat if he has to vacate it to go to Westminster?

The TUV promise to stand in every constituency didn't even last the first 24hrs of campaigning

What happens to Easton’s MLA seat if he has to vacate it to go to Westminster? He’d be able to co-opt someone else in I think, when independent unionist David McClarty died in 2014 he was replaced by current MLA Claire Sugden which presumably was prepared for as he was ill for some time. So it doesn’t just seem to be a process restricted to parties

Sylvia Hermon announced at a relatively late stage in 2019 that she wasn’t going to stand again, so the other parties had to scramble quickly to decide whether to have candidates, and/or select them. I have often thought that it would have been more fun (psephologically, not politically) if she had not announced it at all, and had let people find out that she wasn’t standing only when the SOPN came out.

I believe a similar situation occurred in a Powys council election a few years back, in which the incumbent independent didn't stand... and neither did anyone else.

Think Farry will edge out Easton by a few thousand.
