This is one of the seats which has notionally flipped control, with a 819 vote SNP majority turning into a 3,224 (7%) vote conservative one thanks to the boundary review.
Technically, therefore Harriet Cross is defending for the tories, Cross is currently a rural surveyor and whilst she'd have no chance with that sort of majority in England or Wales, she must start as a slight, if not significant, favourite in Scotland.
The SNP incumbent, who'll be ruing the loss of parts of Aberdeen City from this seat is Richard Thomson, who's only been in the Commons himself since 2019. He's currently the SNP spokesperson on Business, Trade, Northern Ireland and Wales and has his work cut out to prevent Gordon from having a fifth different MP in as many elections.
The lib dems are now also-rans in this part of the country at general elections, but their candidate is Conrad Wood, who's local bar chart promotes the number of general elections won by each party, out of the past seven.

quoted to encourage others to enjoy the story Her Twitter feed includes "the government is more interested in killing trans people than providing affordable homes", which is an ... interesting take.

If I had to choose between providing affordable homes or killing trans people I would choose affordable homes

I remember we had a candidate called Ann Christina in the 80s. That’s a distinctly odd surname too if it’s a surname

Sophie Molly - does she have a surname? My constituency MSPs since 1999 have been Wendy Alexander, Hugh Henry and Tom Arthur.

I was jokingly told never trust man whose last name could be a first name I would have assumed I was safe on that score until Keane Duncan turned up in the North Yorkshire mayoral election.

A Sophie Molly update: at first she announced she was defecting to the SNP, but within a few hours of that announced she was instead forming her own party called the Rainbow Party, and she's now announced she intends to stand as an independent in Aberdeen South. Absolutely speedrunning my whole bit at this point.
