We seem to have Matt Edwards standing for the Green Party here. Councillor for Tong on the Bradford Council and stood in the same seat in 2019.

Is there anyone that Harry Boota hasn’t stood for?
Wasn’t that long ago he was trying to get on the area exec with the Tories, might have managed it actually.
Apparently a life long Lib Dem voter but joined UKIP because they’d protect the NHS, stood against Galloway in 15…
Bradford’s version of Waj Ali perhaps.

Just looked him up, he’s got some CV by the looks. 😅

Independent Muslim candidate who wants to ban the "Israel lobby". There are a surprising number of independent Muslim candidates (as well as the Workers' Party) which points to quite a lot of energy which we may not be picking up. Could this be a potential hole in Labour support that we're not picking up (although the polls aren't either): electionleaflets.org/leaflets/19741/

I have heard that canvassing returns are satisfactory for Labour here

I have heard that canvassing returns are satisfactory for Labour here I'm not saying that the independent Muslim candidates are going to save many deposits, it's just the surprising amount of them shows a level of disenchantment and energy amomg Muslims that a lot of us haven't picked up. It may end there, they're a disorganised bunch, but it may be symptomatic of something that could have other effects down the line.

A snippet on how this constituency voted, from someone replying to Ben Walker's tweet about his map:
(In case that disappears, the claim is that Reform UK carried Queensbury and the Independent carried Great Horton.)

That sounds very plausible re: Reform carrying Queensbury. I'd have thoguht the Independent vote here was a bit low to carry one of six wards, but then the muslim population is heavily concentrated in that ward. I guess this chap was at the count so knows what he's saying.

I don't know if that's the report I read a week or so ago, I've followed the link and it doesn't actually go to anywhere with any actual data, but the one I looked at a couple of weeks ago got Scarborough & Whitby comprehensively wrong.
