I'm going for Labour wins in both Swindon seats, Lib Dem in Chippenham & Tories to hold the rest Skye claimed yesterday that the Lib Dems are ahead several percentpoints in Melksham & Devizes. What did Mull and Lewis think?

No one seemed to have noticed this, but it turns out our new MP is quite well known as a long distance rower among other things. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roz_Savage

I believe it is the first time that a woman who has rowed solo across the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans has beaten a man whose surname is also quite a boring colour at a UK General Election. So an historic first there.

It is genuinely slightly insane that the MP here is anything other than a Tory

well, sort of. The old Chippenham constituency saw some very close Liberal-Tory finishes in the 60s & early 70s & included a lot of this territory. But of course this seat doesn't have some of the Liberal centres that seat had, including Chippenham town itself, and since the present Chippenham seat was formed in 2010 this seat or its predecessor North Wiltshire haven't looked like being lost - until now.

Exactly, once Chippenham was split off I thought that the remaining parts of the pre 2010 North Wiltshire seat would be out of play. I’m interested to know if there was any differential voting between the Gloucestershire and Wiltshire elements of this seat or whether it was pretty much the same across the piece.

It wasn't a shock to some of us, Lib Dems are strong in Cirencester & in some of the smaller towns, such as Malmesbury, it would have been down to differential turn out between these areas and the more rural areas. Although, saying that when you get very small & wealthy villages such as Ewen only having 1 poster site, a Lib Dem one ahead of the election it was showing signs of what happened.
