Quite surprised James Gray is restanding here as he would have been an obvious retirement due to longevity and has a real fight on his hands for the first time since 2001 but he definitely appears to be standing x.com/JGray/status/1794437372743991770

Liberal Party fielding Cllr Chris Twells here... Isn’t he the guy who was somewhat controversially a councillor in Salford and in Cotswold at the same time?

He was elected by accident in Tetbury but then refused to stand down from either. He was shortly after suspended from the Lib Dems (I'm told for unrelated reasons, though I don't know what the details were).

He was a rising star in the Lib Dems and screwed it all up by letting his ego get the better of him. And it seems it still is getting the better of him...

I drove from Wootton Bassett to Malmesbury the other day and saw a stack of Tory boards up, before realising they’re probably all on Dyson land.

So simultaneously Starmer doesn't have a plan or policies, but plans to raise taxes. Very convincing

I wonder how much of this is about local parties who have never faced a real fight before not being able to cope with a competitive election. This is a very good point. Not least because others in South Cots have received the same message, but citing 'voting Reform' as handing the keys to Labour. All of these are addressed. This leads me to believe the Cons are using some v basic demographic data to attempt to apportion voting blocks - because they have no ground canvass data to base anything on. I think we can all imagine the panic in the JG team at having to fight for their seat, and decide what, who, when and how to target. All the while the national vote share collapses around them. I'm in Stroud constit, but had to drive to Malmesbury earlier - sea of LD boards there.
