I knew Michael Lavalette, and was a councillor. I believe they will be standing from the Preston Independents. Palestine is certainly an issue, but this will be a left-wing candidate not just Palestine.

Lavalette elsewhere makes references to being selected by "Preston Independents", and to Galloway's success - but is not listed by the Gallowayites as a candidate who has their support.

Ten, for a very low-profile constituency? What on earth is the longest ballot of this election going to look like?! There was a parliamentary by-election in Canada last week for the Toronto-St Paul riding in which there were 84 candidates. I imagine that won't be surpassed. |

I've not been down there for a couple weeks, but would expect him to get most support from there. He's sent quite a few glossy leaflets out too. |
