NDP doing better than expected. First NDP hold here. PC doing better than expected (presently, i.e. 1/3 counted): By seats awful as expected, but by vote-% they are only 2% behind. Indeed, it'll be interesting to see how the rural areas continue to come in.

...and the biggest loser is - electronical voting: The results came not faster, as promised, but slowlier in than normally in Canada and now the EC-webSite has completely crashed for at least 45 minutes...

Yes, if you watched the outgoing Liberal leader's speech, it was actually quite saddening. The NDP leader played a masterstroke though.

Either Jagmeet Singh isn't aware that the North West Territories and Nunavut exist, or he's a liar.

I'm assuming you think the news organisations making the same point long before he did are also either lying or mistaken?

And in any case, it appears you are actually mistaken as Inuit and Métis are not considered to be first Nations peoples but rather distinct indigenous groups

Either Jagmeet Singh isn't aware that the North West Territories and Nunavut exist, or he's a liar. Difference is the territories have a commissioner above the Premier (where they represent the Canadian government, not the Crown - therefore they are above the Premier in the constitutional order), while in the provinces, the Premiers are actually the head of government.

Indeed, being specific by saying provincial premier would have been sensible. Nevertheless it's historic within a province or territory with a small minority indigenous population (bearing in mind NWT in 1984 included what is now Nunavut).

Manitoba will tomorrow deselect the PC, which has been in power for 7 years (after 16 of NDP). Recently emerged an opinionPoll of an unknown company having the PC overAll narrowly ahead, but even they have them trailing in crucial Winnipeg (32/57 seats). Result 2019: TargetLists: - PC-NDP: - PC-Lib.: - NDP-Lib.: Great exercise about universal swings. Of the 16 NDP gains, they won: Target 1 and 2 over Liberals Targets 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15

Pollster-perFormances in Manitoba: - chronoLogical order: - grouped by deViation ("DeV.") per polled party: - last poll of each company: MainStreet & Forum performed best with missing the 4 main parties (incl. Greens) by just 0.8% each.

3 days ago, the Green Party of Canada won their first seat in the Ontario Assembly in a sensational gain from the New Democratic Party, via a by-election in Kitchener Central.
Perennial candidate John C. Turmel, holder of the Guinness Record for most elections contested and lost, polled his second lowest vote total ever in that by-election-13, but amazingly that was only bad enough to finish third-last.

Oh, boy. 1. In Canada, the federal and provincial parties are usually not affiliated, so, that is the Green Party of Ontario. 2. The Ontario Greens already hold the seat of Guelph, with their leader Mike Morrice. 3. Ontario doesn't have an Assembly, but a Provincial Parliament.

Morrice is the federal MP for Kitchener Centr e.

They are now down by 20%… The byElection-results have generally not been as disastrous, though. there have not been any by-elections outside Durham (which was in early march, and despite being O’Toole’s former riding, had a large swing) since June 2023.
