The main thing I'm certain about so far is that one of the X-Men is defending a seat. And she is the first MP of the night to lose her seat.

The Greens are absolutely trounced in Fredericton where their sitting MP defected to the Liberals. It's neck and neck between the Liberals and Conservatives.

A reminder there will be a significant amount of postal voting counted tomorrow. Polling indicated that the NDP should win it, with the Conservative 3rd. To keep in mind while looking the result.

If the Green vote in Atlantic Canada is any indication, it'll be a good night if they hold onto 2 seats across the whole country!

Well a perfect night would be also holding onto the Fredericton seat they won in 2019 (before the MP defected to the Liberals), but that's definitely lost. I can also bet a million bucks that Annamie Paul will get trounced in Toronto Centre. Don't know the situation in Kitchener.

Strong local candidate who finished 2nd last time, Liberal incumbent dropped by the party due to sexual allegations, but still on ballot.

Given the state of the Greens I wonder if winning or being trounced in Toronto Central would be better for the party going forward.

Gatineau looks weird but it's only one polling station:
Rachid Jemmah Green 68.0 % 54 votes Luc Lavoie Free Party of Canada 20.0 % 16 votes Joel E. Bernard Conservative 5.0 % 4 votes Mathieu Saint-Jean People's Party 3.0 % 2 votes Steven MacKinnon Liberal Incumbent 1.0 % 1 votes Geneviève Nadeau Bloc Québécois 1.0 % 1 votes Sébastien Grenier Parti Rhinoceros Party 1.0 % 1 votes Pierre Soublière Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada 1.0 % 1 votes Fernanda Rengel New Democrat 0.0 % 0 votes

Beauce is the first riding with one of the big six leaders to report. Bernier is trailing with as many votes as the Marijuana Party. But with only 7 votes in so far it's very early days.
And it's a pain to c&p the results over into a meaningful form on this browser.

Erin O'Toole is currently on the same total as the Liberal candidate in his own riding of Durham.

O'Toole was trailing in his own riding but is now pulling ahead.
Bernier is in a three way scrum for a distant second place in Beauce. There's a long history of the riding going its own way - it's elected independents three times since the war (including Bernier's father once), was a Liberal-Social Credit/Ralliement Crediste battleground for two decades including being the last riding to send a Social Credit leader to Ottawa and it's one of the few in Quebec to have never gone Bloc or NDP.
Paul is trounced in fourth place in Toronto Centre.
Singh is tied in Burnaby South but BC results are only slowly coming in.
Trudeau and Blanchet are comfortably ahead in their ridings.
