Surprise Green gain of the evening? They are clearly trying, but this is a pretty safe Tory seat: 62.2% notionally in 2019 and, barring the small part which comes from the old Waveney, no recent history of a non-Conservative MP. I don't know how good they will be at establishing themselves as the main challenger to the Tories, but, even if they do, getting enough votes to win seems a tall order, outside of a complete Tory meltdown scenario anyway.

Surprise Green gain of the evening? The Green campaign here is tending to go under the media radar, but Norman Lamb's endorsement (or prediction, I wasn't sure he actually was endorsing) may change that. Perhaps somewhat controversially, I have long thought that this seat is our best chance of making a gain, above Bristol Central where everyone's attention is focused (and which I think is still too close to call).

Green candidate endorsed by Norman Lamb (former LD MP for Norfolk North) I'm curious if this actually helps the Greens here since he was a Norfolk MP after all, although maybe the Greens in Waveney Valley are targeting a similar demographic to the one that elected Lamb for so many years in North Norfolk. Are there many similarities between that seat and this? I suspect it also has an elderly population and may also have been ravaged by the Beeching axe?

Would be interesting if this was the only Green seat after the GE: a Tory instead of a Labour facing seat. What would that mean in terms of the policy stands in Parliament?

It'll be interesting if they win all four of the seats they hope to take: Brighton Pavilion, Bristol Central, the North Herefordshire seat and here.

Shame then. I know he'd left the Lib Dems, but he was one of the more reasonable Lib Dem affiliated types. The bridges are probably truly burnt now.

Probably a Green gain, considering how much they're focusing on it and the Conservatives' national weakness.

The Greens were being bigged up in Norwich South in 2010 based on pretty phenomenal local election results. In the event Labour did lose the seat but it was surprisingly gained by the Lib Dems. The Green candidate came a distant fourth, despite a big increase in vote share. His name was Adrian Ramsay.
