These will be happening on 31st March.
The united opposition alliance has broken down, and the AKP is looking to capitalise - polling has shown them ahead even in some opposition strongholds such as Antalya due to the split vote opposing them. However, most of the polling in the big two prizes, Ankara and Istanbul, has shown the incumbent CHP mayors holding on narrowly (particularly in the former). Istanbul in particular is likely to go down to the wire once again.
Erdogan is looking to introduce more constitutional changes in the near future, and these elections may well have an impact on whether he decides to go ahead / the extent of the changes.

Western Turkey looking a bit...CHP... Very early results, but they do look better for CHP than expected.

And the Religious nutcases are doing very well. It’s certainly costing the AKP. With 22% counted the CHP are actually leading nationally.

Do you really want to advertise your ignorance so brazenly? The CHP are leading nationally. Istanbul is Erdogan’s traditional power base and votes broadly in line with the nation (~2-3% to the left usually). Same with Ankara, though that is looking like a landslide for Yavas, the popular CHP mayor, at the moment.

The CHP have just taken the lead in Hatay with 60% counted, which was thought to be a dead cert AKP gain.
