Yes, this thread really isn’t place and as mentioned already the report function is there But totally useless as it was shown time and time that the administration team is refusing to implement the Terms of Service, as it would cause the right-wing posters to throw a tantrum.

Well for the record I reject that but it's really not fair for a psephology thread that isn't even about national politics to get derailed with this so if there's issues to be raised it should at least be done somewhere more appropriate, let's leave this thread alone now

I notice the Hackney mayoral election leaflet doesn't include any information about the Conservative candidate, Simche Steinberger, whereas all the other people running get a double-page spread. Are there any issues with this? I was just re-reading it before my wife and I go to vote this morning.

Presumably they didn't submit anything. I see. I'm not sure when the deadline for submitting their copy was, but as they changed candidate at the last minute it may have been that there wasn't time to also get new copy in.

Does anyone think that the fact that Labour have lost 46 councilors over the last week or so, many Muslim is going to affect results? YouGov has shown a swing back and forth between Labour and Green. So what do other people think?

Patience maxque, I’ve been waiting since September for anything more than an acknowledgment to repeated, polite requests about my inability to post on threads other than this one.

So what do other people think? I don't think that a significant number of voters in this week's by-elections will even be aware of the defections. Even in areas where the defections have taken place, many voters will not have noticed. Especially if the defectors haven't made much effort to tell their electorates.
Also, postal votes (which are a particularly high proportion of votes in by-elections) will have been cast before the defections.

So what do other people think? In many ways the locations of this weeks by elections are amongst the least likely places in the UK to be effected by that. An election in Blackburn or Burnley this week would potentially be interesting to test opinion.

Thank your for those comments, as we have a situation here in Ontario where the leader of the social democrat, NDP, expelled a Somali member from her party who has muscular-dystrophy and the disabled and trade union movement are very upset and it is just before a provincial by-election.

I grew up in Wanstead, London E11, 1950-1965 and remember when Patrick Gordon Walker, who had lost his seat in Smethwick in 1964, lost a by-election in Leyton by 207 votes in January 1965. Reginald Sorrenson was first elected to Leyton West in 1929, losing it in 1931, but re-gaining it in 1935, serving as the follow up Leyton MP until he was made a lord in December 1964. Walker lost his seat over immigration and racial issues, but the voters of Leyton did not like their MP being removed so Walker could have a safe labour seat.

Plaistow North on the 23rd of this month is probably the most likely to show an effect.

I was working in that area between 1961 and 1963 (Tom Hood school) so I remember all of that very well, even though I had moved on by the time of the famous by election.

I wonder whether we could see an electoral petition from SHI based on the invalid description?
