South Pennines with our own elected mayor. (The WYCA is, as expected, too Leeds-centric). Three councils as per YL with Ossett snaffled from Wakefield. Ossett is an odd inclusion in Wakefield I think. It should have been Kirklees' 25th ward but the borough asked to join Wakefield.

Morfield? Crow Nest? Ponderosa? Thornhills? Roberttown? Which one? I was thinking of this one. I was wondering if it was going to be a place called Boothroyd, but I couldn’t find any such on the maps I was looking at. Obviously it’s too small a a scale : )

There are now five councillors in the "Kirklees Community Independents Group": Ammar Anwar and Tanisha Bramwell (both Dewsbury West), Arshad Ali (Heckmondwike), Jo Lawson and Imran Safdar (both Crosland Moor & Netherton). Only two of these are those elected this year.
The other five Independents are still shown as simply "Independent". They are the newly elected councillors in Batley East, Batley West and Dewsbury South, the re-elected Independent in Holme Valley North and Mussarat Khan (Dalton), who as mentioned has just left Labour.

Really pleased at this Carole was so often a voice of reason in periods of turmoil within the party locally. Well deserved. I wonder if they’ll make a deal with the independents or Lib Dems. If it were me I’d make a big offer to the Lib Dems, to either abstain or join the cabinet. The independents should maybe not be rewarded for leaving with more bargaining power?
