The third Conservative elected in 2021 was Santokh Singh Chhokar, so Jaspal is possibly a relation. Barry Harding was the second indy last time and is a former Conservative district councillor for Denham ward on the old South Bucks council.

The three wards that make up this division, elected in May this year 2 Independents and 1 Con. The Conservatives would have carried the division with 41.8% but were the only ones to contest all 3 wards, the Independents got 35.9% from 3 candidates in 2 wards (1 got a negligible vote), Labour 12.5% (2 in 2 wards) and Green 9.8% (1 in 1 ward). Neil Waller is a former district councillor for Crowborough South West (not in this division) who lost his seat to the Lib Dems this May.

At a guess, the nomination went in early and then the Meads vacancy occurred and some talking happened...

We'll see if there's a Green candidate for Meads, but I'd be surprised if there was one...

It's a classic of the genre. I actually know her slightly which was why I presumed it wasn't cold feet / decided I'm not a Lib Dem any more. Tony Otim would seem to have given a plausible explanation
