Well, the PSD might even be more appalling than SMER. Although they have at least cleaned up their act since the downfall of Dragnea.

Conspiracy theory time. No, not the fiendish Guardian plot to make people think that the Slovak electoral system might be complicated. But here in the FT, if you can get behind the paywall. www.ft.com/content/18504c61-4878-46c3-aa99-de00b63fb932There's an allegation that Orban is actually helping Fico, and that there's a coordinated attempt to get loads of migrants into Slovakia this week so that Fico can point to them and prove his agenda.

How nice to see Slovakia and Hungary getting along finally. ...and how surprising... Probably once more no Hungarian party will be coming into parliament.

Where have the Magyar voters gone now they've abandoned the usual Hungarian parties? Is there a winner or has the vote scattered to the wind?

How may of them no longer have the right to vote in Slovakia, having taken up Orban's offer of passports?

The Hungarian minority is now according to pollster AKO even more against support for the Ukraine than the Slovak majority: Per party: Total: A small majority against any militarical help, what is similar to my Austria.

For those, who have lost the overView of the parties: Additionally we have now Smer-slinter "Hlas" of exPM Pellegrini, OLaNO-splinter "Demokrati" of exPM Heger (roughly at "ZaLudi") and "Modri" of exPM Dzurinda (allied with "Most=Hid", ideologically also in that area). With the race turning in the end into a duel Smer-PS we can expect a high turnOut, what should help PS, as especially the urban young will be energized.* And we can expect, that the parties closer to them will perform worse than polled, some will probably fall finally below the hurdles; so 1 of the 2 could end winning the election, but losing crucial allies. *After all Slovakia is trending into cultureWar-territory: The woke crowd of left"liberal" PS (IT-experts aso.) have - not without reason - been accused of being communistic - amusingly by noBody else than the proPutin (ex)Communists of KSS/Smer/...

Due to irRegularities pollingStations will have to be opened longer and numbers won't be released before 22.45 MET.
Last time PS&Spolu was heavily overpolled, even in exitPolls. Also KDH, which is likely to end below 5%.

Slovakia needs a ten per cent threshold. That did not result in good governance in Turkey and it certainly will not here. Also, Slovak already has a 10% threshold, but only for coalitions of 4 or more parties. It is 5% for single parties and 7% for coalitions with 2 or 3 parties.

Turkey's governance problems aren't to do with the thresholds. They're to do with massively irreconcilable social differences. And a failure to listen to Atatürk.

With 90% counted, it is clear, that SNS will make it and ex-neonazistic Rupublic & Orbanist Alliance narrowly not because of Smer's final surge. (SmeRodina wasted also votes of this camp.) Thus there exist 3 coalitionOptions:
Smer+Hlas+SNS Smer+Hlas+KDH PS+Hlas+KDH+SaS
In theory OL'ANO could come into play, too - but this required Matovic to emigrate to Australia... (and why should he after being - apart from his archEnemy Sulik/SaS - the only one from the 2020-2022coalition, who survived?)

The leader of ChristDemocratic KDH (per se a softy) called the cult around homo&trans-Sexuals (and whatever more) "a plague" and the chatting class in Bratislava declared this to be the end of his party - but the contrary happened.
