Thanks for these updates nelson. They're getting a lot of readership ("reach" as they call it on social media) even if the replies seem limited. They're little postcards from islands we don't hear anything about on the news and is a great advert for this forum. They're amazing islands. Absolutely incredible to visit. Lovely people as well. And obsessed with Cadburys Dairy Milk. A lad I know went there just before lockdown kicked in. Adored it.

Must be one of those people that don’t like sunlight. It’s one of the cloudiest places in the world, even worse than Lima.

The acting chairman of the Løgting Jógvani á Lakjuni has extended Aksel V. Johannesen's mandate to form a government to Thursday when the new Løgting convenes, the three parties still haven't agreed on the number of ministers and the distribution of the portfolios, but there shouldn't be any unresolved issues about the government agreement.
Jógvani á Lakjuni from the People's Party is the acting chairman due to seniority and the new Løgting will elected an ordinary chairman on Thursday, so he couldn't prolong the mandate any longer. So if the new government isn't ready on Thursday as expected it'll be up to the new chairman to decide how long Johannesen gets to finalise the negotiations.
EDIT: Aksel V. Johannesen says he expects them to reach an agreement about the distribution of the ministries tonight, and if so the government agreement will be presented at a press conference tomorrow.
EDIT2: They failed to agree this evening and will meet again tomorrow.

While the government agreement and the new cabinet will not be announced until tomorrow the three parties have reached an agreement and according to the public broadcaster Kringvarp's sources it'll be a nine member government with EP getting four ministers incl. the Premier, Republic three and the Chairman of the Løgting and Progress two incl. the Ministry of Finance. Progress demanding Finance in return for delivering the decisive seats despite being the smallest party was the main stumbling block, but in the end the two centre-left parties had to cave.

Distribution of ministries.
Equality Party: Premier, Healthcare, Environment, Children & Education
Republic: Foreign Affairs & Business, Fishing & Social Affairs, Culture
Progress: Finance, Law & Interior Affairs
So EP has clearly paid a high price to their coalition partners and is left without an economic ministry. Fishing and Social Affairs is an odd combination considering how important and time consuming the Ministry of Fisheries is and the growing social problems caused by the cost of living crisis.
...
The Government Agreement is called "Together We are Strong", it's 13 pages long and only in Faroese (which I read rather slowly), so I'll get back to that later.

The cabinet. Five men and four women. I misread a previous article with a strange use of commas, they haven't combined Social Affairs and Fisheries after all, should have realised it was too odd to be true.
Equality Party:
Premier Aksel V. Johannesen
Minister of Healthcare Margit Stórá
Minister of Children and Education Djóni Nolsøe Joensen
Minister of Environment Ingilín D. Strøm
Republic:
Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Business Høgni Hoydal
Minister of Social Affairs and Culture Sirið Stenberg
Minister of Fisheries Dennis Holm
Progress:
Minister of Finance Ruth Vang
Minister of Justice and Interior Affairs Bjarni K. Petersen
